Please read this announcement in full for the latest information.
"I want to assure you once we get this server back we are leaving this provider immediately. We have one server with this provider and this provider is single handedly ruining our reputation with 40 clients. The delays in their response times was inexcusable. We have the new server ready to go and the moment we gain access we will assess things and plan a move to this new server.
I also appreciate clients are wanting to move provider and we fully understand this. I know many of you are angry and frustrated at this time. We understand if some of the 40 clients on this server do jump ship but what I would say is please give us the chance to prove to you that servers from our 8 year trusted provider are reliable and work well. We have thousands of happy clients of many years hosted on such servers.
This is an effort to be honest and open and we know people are angry but we ask for a little more patience at this time."
Sunday 4 March 7.25am
All accounts have now been copied across to the new server. The process took quite some time. We are now doing the following processes:
========================================================
Saturday 3 March 8.47am
The old server is on line and all accounts are working. Open a ticket if you notice any issues.
All Accounts are currently being moved to the new server at this time. We just emailed all clients on this server to give them detailed information of the process.
========================================================
Saturday 3 March 4.11am
The restore is complete. We are now recompiling php to fix the errors. If you see any problems with your restored site please open a support ticket.
Once the php recompile completes we are starting to copy all accounts to the NEW server 21 in Maidenhead. We will email all clients in the morning to inform them of a timeframe.
========================================================
Saturday 3 March 12.08am
The restore is at 89%. A few sites are throwing php errors that will be resolved when we recompile php after the restore. Any sites that have SSL certificates will not currecntly work on an https:// connection as we need to reassign the dedicated IP addresses. This will be done shortly once all sites are restored.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 10.55pm
The restore is at 79%.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 9.27pm
The restore is at 64%.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 8.32pm
The restore is at 52%.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 7.06pm
The restore is at 37%. We plan to leave the office now to get some dinner and go home and our 24/7 techs are now monitoring this. The next update will be later this evening after we eat and travel home. Any queries in the meantime please open a support ticket but please be assured our techs are watching this restore closely.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 7.06pm
The restore is at 25%
========================================================
Friday 2 March 6.39pm
The large account has finished and the restore is progressing nicely now. An increasing number of accounts are now back on line as the restore runs through. We will update on progress in another hours time.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 6.20pm
Sorry for the lack of progress on this. The 65GB account has now zipped and has been copied to the /home folder. It is now being restored. Once this huge account completes the restore of the remaining accounts will be much faster.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 5.47pm
The script is stalled at an account that is 65GB in size and is currently running the gzip process. Once that completes the restore will be faster as all accounts after that are a lot smaller. We will update in 45 minutes time
========================================================
Friday 2 March 4.49pm
The script is running and server restore is at 7% - a number of sites are now back up and running again. We will update soon.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 4.23pm
We just restored one account and it is resolving and working fine. Our tech is now writing a script to perform a restore of all accounts. We will be kicking off this full restore shortly and we will update this announcement once that starts.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 3.38pm
Cpanel install is about to complete on this server. We will shortly be configuring it and then we will start the restore and the websites will start coming on line. We will provide another update in 60 minutes.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 2.38pm
Cpanel install is still ongoing at this time.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 1.37pm
Server 21 (old) is now back on line and is pinging. We are currently installing Cpanel. We will then restore the accounts from backup and then rsync the accounts from the live data from just before it went off line. There should be no data loss.
Once we do that we will immediately begin the copy to the server 21 (new) which has IP: 109.73.169.82 and we will update the name server Ips once that completes. We will then perform a final rsync of the data to ensure no data loss.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 12.03pm
The data centre are unable to get networking working on this server. They are still working on this. We have actually told them to stop and place a new drive in the server and install CentOS. We will then install Cpanel and restore. There should be no data loss as all drives are showing no errors. We felt it was best to make this decision now rather then wait another few hours for what may not be a solution anyhow. The reason we made this decision is that last week the same issue they worked for 12 hours with no luck so this is history repeating itself.
We have the new server 21 available and waiting to receive data later once we have a server working with network. Once we do that we will be terminating our arrangement with this company.
Thank you.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 10.59am
We are able to connect via KVM and The server looks fine but there is no networking. We have escalated this to the data centre again as without networking we cannot do anything more.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 10.43am
We just received the KVM logins finally. We are finally able to log in to start work on this.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 10.16am
We have no new information at this time. We are waiting over an hour now for this provider to activate KVM logins for this server so we can connect. I want to assure you once we get this server back we are leaving this provider immediately. We have one server with this provider and this provider is single handedly ruining our reputation with 40 clients. We have the new server ready to go and the moment we gain access we will assess things and plan a move to this new server.

Friday 2 March 8.27am
The data centre techs have just responded and they have started looking at the server. At the moment they are telling us they cannot get the server to boot up and they are still working on the issue. We will post an update here as soon as possible. Please refresh this thread for further updates
Also as soon as we get this server back on line we will begin the copy process from this server to the new server we now have on line and ready.
========================================================
Friday 2 March 7.15am
Anyone on server 21 will remember the major server issues last week. Ironically the new server 21 that we talked about last week is ready today but this morning the old server 21 has gone off line again.
A reboot has not brought it back on line. We will post an update within 40 minutes as we have just asked the data centre to look into this as a matter of extreme urgency.
In the email we sent last week we informed you we were building a new server 21 with our long term trusted provider and we also offered you the opportunity to move last week to a different server. Many clients took the opportunity to move last week but may clients chose to stay and wait for the new server 21 to be built and come on line. This is an apology to those clients who decided to say on the old server 21 - we will update you as soon as practically possible.
This announcement will be updated first with news on this server. The next update will be in 40 minutes from now
