This is a brief description on what has been happening for the past 30 minutes on a segment of our UK network. One of the cabinets is experiencing an outboind surge in traffic which we are working to stop now.
Unfortunately at the same time another technician assumed VPS3 node was down (they did not check for packet loss) and they issued a reboot request. I realised this was happening right away but due to the packet loss we were unable to access via IPMI and the server was rebooted.
The VPS containers are now restartng one by one and we are still working on stopping this high surge in outbound traffic that is coming from another server through the switch in the cabinet.
