Half Price Upgrades for 12 months on Business Hosting

From now until the end of November 2012 we have Half Price Upgrades on Business Hosting for 12 months.  This is a really good deal for anyone who has been thinking about moving from Standard Shared Hosting to Business Hosting.

To upgrade the process is simple:

Open a Support Ticket using the link on our website menu We will respond with details and add an invoice You pay the invoice We migrate your data from the current server to a Business Server We/You change the name servers Your site will quickly start resolving from our Business Servers

Our Business Hosting is designed with reliability in mind.  Please look at what you get included in this account and it may actually be (in real terms) much cheaper than it first looks.

Here are  ten reasons why upgrading your standard shared hosting account to a business hosting account is a good idea:

80% fewer accounts per physical server. Unlike standard shared servers where users can be paying less than £2 per month we do not pack out our Business Servers with hundreds of accounts.  This results in average server loads being lower and reliability is increased.

No Resellers on our Business servers. Reseller Accounts whilst great are those we have least control over.  A reseller can add many accounts to the server and we generally find 90% of server abuse cases result from the actions of an account in a reseller account.  On our business servers there are no reseller accounts so we always know exactly who is hosting there.

Price only attracts serious business users. A teenage developer will generally not buy such an account and it is unlikely a business with an active website would use such an account for experimentation purposes.  Multiple scripts for testing (that go out of date) are not likely to be installed and forgotten about which is a security risk

Latest server architecture. All our Business servers have at least Intel Sandy Bridge architecture with enough RAM for good performance.  They are also on a separate vLAN in the data centre so nothing that happens on a standard server can have any impact on these servers (such as a DDOS attack)

Included remote backup account. We bundle a remote backup account in a different data centre on request for all business users.  Full ftp access is provided to this account. Use this to log into Cpanel and generate backups as often as you need them (£20 per year if bought with standard hosting)

Included Domain Name. You get 1 standard priced domain name included with these accounts (£9.49 per year if bought with standard hosting)

Higher outgoing mail limit. As your account resides on a business grade server we are able to increase the outgoing email limit to 1000 emails per hour compared to the much lower limit on our standard shared hosting.

Dedicated IP Address on request for your account meaning you are not sharing this with any other user so (£12 per year if bought with standard hosting)

Included (on request) Comodo Essential SSL Certificate giving your websites users the confidence that any data they send you is encrypted (£20 per year if bought with standard hosting)

Priority Support meaning your tickets get handled first on our helpdesk at busy times.  Your tickets get flagged in fluorescent yellow highlight on our helpdesk and technicians know at busy times to handle these tickets first.
Priority Disaster Recovery. In the event of a major issue meaning we are faced with multiple outages (rare event) staff will work to recover business servers first
When is a Business Account not suited

A Business Account is still a shared hosting account (albeit fewer accounts shared) so it should not be seen as a cheap alternative to a VPS Server or a Dedicated Server.   Whilst our business servers are capable of a lot more than any shared server we still have the same abuse policies for these servers to keep them reliable for other users. We may exercise a little more discretion for accounts hitting these limits on a case by case basis though than would otherwise be possible on standard shared hosting.

AVERAGE SERVER RESOURCE LIMITS
Memory usage may not exceed 10% per domain/file/application
CPU usage may not exceed 15% per domain/file/application
Apache connections may not exceed 30 connections
15 MySQL maximum user connections allowed

Thanks for understanding our policies which are in place to ensure a reliable hosting experience for all users.  Only a very small fraction of a percentage of accounts ever reach these limits so most users need not be concerned.
