I am aware that some clients have ended up being blocked from using the server by the firewall.
On shared hosting we restrict the number of concurrent ftp connections and concurrent files being uploaded or downloaded to ensure the server load remains stable and to ensure that many users can use the ftp service at the same time.
We have noticed in recent weeks a great increase in the number of tickets from clients who are blocked on the firewall. The common cause is they were using ftp at the time they were blocked and the firewall logs show 200+ concurrent ftp connections causing the block. Most clients are using Filezilla or Coda when this happens.
We suspect a new version of your ftp software must allow unlimited uploads/downloads and this directly conflicts with the restrictions we have on our shared server firewalls.
Please change your ftp software settings to only make a few concurrent connections and only upload or download a few files at a time.
Thanks
