XEN12 Node Reason for Outage

Good Morning

We are posting this announcement as the Xen 12 Node has a little downtime overnight.  The node became unresponsive at 5.07am and two subsequent reboots did not bring the node on line.  We had to request a KVM session from our data centre and this took 38 minutes to be connected.

Once we got KVM access our senior admin checked the server and saw it was booting into a screen with a blinking cursor indicative of a missing bootloader.  It took a little time to resolve this issue but the server was brought back on line at 6.36am.

We need to schedule a few test reboots at an off peak time (we will have the KVM session hooked up before we do this to limit any downtime) to make sure this server boots normally.  This will be scheduled in the next 48 hours for off peak hours and we will update this announcement with details.

We apologise for the downtime and apologise it took us a little longer than we would have liked to resolve.
