Good Day
We trust this message finds you well. Over the next few evenings we will be upgrading MySQL versions on some of our older shared servers as the version is out of date and more vulnerable. By 'older' it is important to clarify we do not mean the hardware is old - this is a software issue. The out of date MySQL version is also preventing Cpanel from updating to the latest release which is important as Cpanel recently also announced some security issues with a recommended upgrade. This is the main reason we need to force this upgrade as there are some security issues with the older version of Cpanel that it is vital we address.
The following servers need some work:
Server 23:
Server 11
Server 20
Server 28
Server 21
We already completed server 23 as a test and it went very smoothly. We will be completing this task one server at a time for the rest of the servers in sequence ahown above at 12 midnight UK time for the next 4 evenings. Server 11 will be completed at 12 midnight EST as this is a US based box with USA clients.
We are not expecting any issues and all websites should continue to operate normally. We are taking the precaution of confirming all backups are up to date for each server before we start.
