The server is back on line.  For those interested in the fix here are the notes from our senior system admin working on the issue - "I reinstalled the master boot record that gotten corrupted resulting in the boot problems. Once that was confirmed to be reinstalled I did a check of the raid and drive health and booted into a known good kernel configuration."

We're sorry this process took a little time.  The initial KVM session hooked up by the data centre remote hands was not responding to keyboard input from our end so we needed to wait for the remote hands in the data centre to do a manual reboot to get the KVM remote access session working.

The server is now responding to ping and we are checking to see that services are coming back on line.  It's looking positive but we just want to do one final check.

We set the server to boot from what should be a good kernel but it is still failing.  Our senior system administrator has been on shift for an hour and working on this server.

A short while ago our monitoring system showed this server we being off line.  We rebooted the machine but it did not come back on line.  A KVM session was hooked up to the server and our technicians discovered that GRUB was somehow missing.  We believe there is some sort of boot drive curruption and we are working on this now.  We will post updates here as we know them and we would ask you do not open multiple tickets and live chats at this time as this will delay our staff working on this server.
