16 June 2025 - To All Clients Hosted with us in London
As a hosting company our server space in London has served us well over the years but this facility is now deemed by us as legacy and hardware there is coming end of life as it is many years old. We are seeing an increasing frequency of London servers failing. We are going to retire all servers in this facility on 1 July 2026 (12 months from now). The good news is that over 90% of our sites and servers have been moved to our local data centre with less than 10% of websites still in London. We will be working over the next 12 months to move all clients still in London to our local NI based data centre.
What this means for you?
If your server or website hosts in London on 1 July 2026 we will be shutting down this facility and we will work with you to move your websites / servers long before this date. If your DNS is controlled by a third party (eg your domain provider) you will need to update your A Record.
When will this be happening?
Starting 1 July 2025 a dedicated team from our office will be reaching out to all clients whose websites are in London. We would ask you to look out for this email and respond when you receive it. Our team will work with you to move your website / server to a new data centre facility owned and managed by our team here in NI. You will be moved to brand new servers running AMD EPYC Processors and NVMe fast disk arrays for best performance.
What happens on 1 July 2026?
On 1 June 2026 our legacy servers in London will start to be decommissioned one at a time with all being decommissioned by 1 July 2026. In the unlikely event a client has not made contact with after we have attempted to make contact numerous times by various means we will move their website and inform them of the DNS change needed to be made. We will then decommission the old server and their website will be off line until they make the DNS change. Once they make the DNS change the website will immediately come back on line. This is only for those clients who we cannot contact or who do not work with is in a timely manner to help us complete this move
Please do not be concerned by this as our team will work diligently with you to assist you in moving across. DNS changes if required will simply be an A Record change and should just take a short time for clients to complete where needed. Any clients who use our name servers we can move you without any intervention from you as well.
When we move you our team will be affording you the opportunity to move away from cPanel to the Enhance Panel with Litespeed for even better performance and speed. We will be strongly recommending clients move to this new platform and the team can talk you through the options when we reach out in the coming weeks and months.
