Earlier this afternoon our monitoring detected a fault with a switch at the top of a rack in our data centre. Rack 3 in DC 2 failed. We replaced the switch and restored the configuration from a backup. Most severs came back on line immediately. There are 18 dedicated servers in this rack.
Two servers failed to regain connectivity. We re-seated the network cable and the servers came back on line.
This is a rare event and our contingency plans worked well. We apologise for this unplanned outage.
