Perl Module issues on two cPanel servers
Last week server809 had a critical error. It was related to Perl Modules and it took us a while to resolve. We assumed it was a one off. Today server815 had the same issue. We fixed it quickly but a reboot required some manual intervention (unrelated) in the data centre which delayed the sites coming back on line.
We are opening a support ticket with cPanel to try to understand why this is happening.
In both cases the issue has happened in the morning time after the nightly cPanel updates run (we have updates turned on for security). Once we more fully understand the issue we will of course work to address this.
In case you were not aware - cPanel we now call our legacy hosting panel and we are encouraging all users to move to Enhance. All new clients are being hosted on Enhance. All clients in London on end of life cPanel servers are being moved to Enhance Panel. That said, we do have a large number of shared cPanel servers still in operation. If any cPanel client wishes to move to Enhance Panel our team will gladly help you achieve this move.
