Hello
onapp.com were to upgrade our version of their software on our Cloud to the latest version (2.2) today. I assumed (wrongly) that they could update the software on the control panel server without any hypervisor impact. It is for this reason I gave the go ahead for this to happen during office hours today.
I just received an email telling me they were proceeding with the upgrade. Our monitoring system then alerted me to the fact that 8 Virtual Machines were off line. These virtual machines were on Hypervisor 2.
The machines have come back with a reboot and I just wanted to assure you we are escalating this to ask why this happened. Perhaps this is part of their upgrade process but I would have assumed if there was going to be client impact they would not have proceeded with the upgrade and would have alerted me to this fact.
Please accept my personal apologies for the 15 minutes of unplanned outage on 8 servers this morning
If you are curious to know here is what the Upgrade will bring to our cloud:

As always if you have any questions or concerns just let us know
